I want to say thank you to everyone for the encouragement and prayers. It has been greatly appreciated. I received a lot of emails from many of you who shared that struggle, heartache and pain has also been a part of your story.
Everyone has a story, don’t they my friends?
Many of you shared that a lot of you have also experienced a failed marriage and broken relationships, and some of you asked, “why do these things happen?”
The answer is simple. It is because we are fallen creatures, and this world is fallen.
Marriages fail because living in Babylon is not easy.
Relationships fail because …. well… they happen because everyone of us experience days that we’re not proud of.
The apostle Paul once said, “he was the chief of sinners.”
A lot of people wrote me who said they felt the same way.
They said, “Nathan, I failed my family in so many ways, and I struggle maintaining my Christian victory.”
I heard this a lot my friends, and how true is it to say that we all struggle?
It is true folks, because we do. Everyone of us. That’s why Jesus said, “the road is difficult and narrow.”
…And this is also why we all need a Savior.
The Bible tells us, “There is none righteous.” This means that none of us are worthy. And it also means that without the grace of God, our works are but dung. But with God’s grace, we can put our dead works behind us, hold onto the cross, and press on.
So let us press on my friends.
Yes, we all have a story. Some of them are sad, and some of them are downright heartbreaking!
But those of you who have allowed faith to merge with your story, are those who are pressing on.
The days are getting darker, my friends, and as we navigate the days of darkness, we must press on with the help of God.
No matter what happens my friends, you have to press on.
I have started a new chapter in my life. I took a brief hiatus to deal with the changes. I am now a lone ranger seeking God, picking up the pieces, trying to overcome bouts of weariness, but through it all, I’m pressing on.
…. Just like many of you are pressing on.
I could have said just like all of you are pressing on, but I can’t say that because some of you are not. Why aren’t you?
It’s because a number if you are beat up. Some of you are shipwrecked, and some of you forgot your spiritual direction.
… It happens my friends.
And whether you’re trying to press on or not. And whether you don’t feel quite ready to get back on the journey, you still have to have to do it.
You have to press on my friend.
You have to move forward in Christ.
… No matter how sad it gets.
… No matter how many tears you’ve shed.
You can’t give up.
…You have to keep moving forward my friend, even when the devil tells you that you’re a loser. Based on my personal experience, maybe it’s true. Perhaps you lost a few battles.
So in layman’s terms, maybe you are. Maybe you did lose something valuable like your family.
…. Maybe you did lose your marriage.
…. Maybe you did break some promises.
And now you feel miserable. And the devil’s right there to remind You. If this is you, you still have to press on my friend.
Paul said, “”I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” He did it, even though he called himself the chief of sinners at the time.
So no matter what lies behind you my friend, look forward … towards Jesus! Not behind you. Because behind all of us lies Babylon, and Sodom.
… Remember Lot’s wife.
So let’s press on my friends. I’m going to do it. I know it’s not easy for some of you. I’m aware that many of you are struggling, but God is also aware. So tell Him about it. He is waiting to hear your prayers.
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
In His Service,
